What is the HPEA?
The Highland Park Education Association is made up of the teachers, secretaries, nurses, child study team members, school counselors, media specialists, and paraprofessionals of the Highland Park School Distict. We have 207 members in our organization at this time. Active members of the Association are also members of the Middlesex County Association, the New Jersey Education Association and the National Education Association.
The Highland Park Education Association works for the welfare of school children, the advancement of public education and the improvement of instructional opportunities for all. The HPEA also advances the professional rights, status, and responsibilities of its members. We represent our members in negotiations and grievances with the School Board on all matters pertaining to the contract between the HPEA and the Highland Park School Board. In addition, the HPEA strives to foster open communication and cooperation with the community.
Our mission, like that of the NJEA, is to advance and protect the rights, benefits and interests of members and promote a quality system of public education for all students.
